Banksy

Banksy is the pseudonym of a world-renowned "guerrilla" street artist known for his controversial, and often politically themed, stenciled pieces.

Characterized by striking images, often combined with statements, Banksy’s work often engages political themes, satirically critiquing war, capitalism, hypocrisy and greed.

Using street art as a foundation to spread powerful messages, Banksy’s worldwide fame have transformed street art from acts of vandalism to sought-after high art pieces.  In 2011, his film “Exit Through The Gift Shop” was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
